Northern Pike

While at Costigan Lake Lodge you will enjoy some phenomenal Northern Pike fishing. The Northern Pike are aggressive from spring to fall, with the average Pike being between 4 – 8 lbs. While the average Pike are very plentiful, it is not uncommon to catch a 25 – 35 lb Northern Pike.

The Northern Pike can be caught on most spoons, such as Daredevils, Cyclops and Five of Diamonds.

Top water lures as well as fly fishing add to the excitement.

Lake Trout

The Lake Trout at Costigan Lake are very plentiful and they range in size from 2 – 40 lbs, with the average being 3 – 6. June and September are the best times for Lake Trout, but they can be caught with heavier jigs in deeper water during July and August

Lake trout can be caught on Yellow 5 of Diamonds, Little Cleo’s and diving Rapala’s.

You will be allowed to take fillets home, but they must all be fish under the upper size limit of 30 inch Northern Pike and 26 inch Lake Trout.

I fished many lakes across Canada and found Costigan Lake to be the “BEST KEPT SECRET FOR FISHING”!!

I would be more than glad to answer any questions or concerns about this lake!!

Conserving our excellent fishing quality is one of our top on-going priorities.

Our camp’s policy of catch and release of prime breeding fish as well as the use of barbless hooks and replicas for the trophy are our best means of ensuring top quality fishing for years to come so that our children and grandchildren can enjoy the same experience we’re lucky to have had since the Costigan Lake Lodge first opened in 1962.
